Theo Martey led a drumming workshop for a field trip for the Musica Franklin students at the Boston Harbor Island.
African Touch Drumming Class led by Theo Martey at the Bare Knuckle Murphy's once a month Starting Monday, March 3rd from 5:30pm-6:30pm. Theo Martey and The Akwaaba Ensemble will perform a series of West African rhythms, dances and music for the Tree Street Youth Celebration in Lewiston Maine. Performance schedule as follows: 3-3:15PM Play background music at Tree Street Youth as attendees arrive and mingle

3:15PM-3:25PM Drumming & Dancing Performance - 10 minutes

3:30PM-3:45PM Awards Ceremony - Akwaaba Ensemble prepares for March
3:45PM-4:15PM March begins - Walk down Walnut St., pass through Kennedy Park, and end
at Simard Payne Park (46 Beech Street) - Akwaaba Ensemble uses hand
drums during the 1 mile walk to Simard Payne Park.
4:15PM-4:30PM Arrive at Simard Payne Park, Akwaaba Ensemble plays informally/in the
background as attendees play in bounce house, talk, eat snacks, etc. End at
4:30PM

Theo Martey and The Akwaaba Ensemble will perform a series of West African Rhythms Dances and Songs at Medway Marches for the Juneteenth Celebration in Medway MA.
Theo Martey will perform a series of West African rhythms and songs for The Mayhew Camp Students on Sunday, June 29th 2025 from 7:30pm-8:30pm. The performance will be interactive with audience participation in singing and dancing in the end.
