Dancing in the Mill Yard - Akwaaba Ensemble
"People danced. People rejoiced. People enjoyed. More than 100 people came out to enjoy the fresh air and the music of AKWAABA, a traditional African drum and dance ensemble. UNH Manchester hosted the event in late August as a welcome back students, staff and faculty and as an opportunity to connect with the local community. Akwaaba has been drumming and dancing together for many years in both Ghana and the United States . The group was formed by Theophilus Nii Martey, a talented artist who was born and raised in Ghana , West Africa." -- description of Akwaaba's performance at UNH-Manchester.
